The defragmentation of Rush Limbaugh, those long pauses, those silent voids are simply

spaces in his mind where crap that once flew like it was on the wings of an eagle now struggle to raise itself off the recording room floor. The dead air only reveals what we already know, the material has gone past its artificial shelf life, the message is old, much of it deleted out of necessity, updates were missed and the defragmenter has forgotten to run the optimize option.

Take away the nonsense, take away the dead air and the long pauses intended to add weight to the so called argument, take away the Rush 1.0 and you have a hour long comedy of perhaps 10 minutes. Someone has taken the wind out of his sails and I'm thinking it was election night that revealed to him just how irrelevant his message has become.

I'm sure he is fighting desperately to hold on to his advertisers but I'm hoping his story is going to go the way of what the heck Beck, a slow and meaningless ride to the bottom of the memory hole.

All he basically has now is an aging audience of angry white males.

I doubt he's getting new listeners as fast as he's losing them.

But at any rate, that demographic (AWM) can't support a show for much longer.

I do hope he loses it completely on air one day and gets kicked to the curb . . . his sway over Republicans is fading fast. LOL!!

She'd just come out of a period of bad luck & bad decisions. We were not very close, but I wish I had paid more attention. In 18 months the change in her was unbelievable. I didn't listen to radio, I didn't watch the news. I wasn't even aware of Limbaugh. Then one day we were out to lunch & she said something about feminazis & I did a complete double take. I grilled her on the term & where it came from & she said "Rush Limbaugh" like I would know the name, & she shrugged it off with a laugh. That's the first I'd heard of him. I think she had totally swallowed the Kool-aid by then.

He tells people who are disillusioned & down on their luck or dealing with bad decisions they've made that they are not to blame - someone else is. The Hispanics, the feminists, the gays, the atheists, the liberals, it's anyone's fault but yours. Does my mother share the blame? Hell yes she does, looking for an easy way to soothe her ego. But why hate speech is allowed on our airwaves is beyond me.

Small, hateful man. I will celebrate the day he dies.

You couldn't possibly mean Rushie. I think we better have a House committee do an investigation and perhaps question some Domincan Republic teen-aged boys. Some may even be adults by now. Or, how about some of his wives? Could they actually testify to his having any balls? Testify - from the root word for testicles. Having to do with the ancient practice of cupping a witness's balls when they gave testimony. Lie, mofo and we crush yer nads.

There, after all, is Rush Limbaugh's drug use. That's well known.

And Rush Limbaugh's vacation to a well know tourist destination for people who want to procure underage prostitutes, that also is known fact.

But you are right, we can't say for certain that Rush Limbaugh is a drug using Pedophile.

I can be disgusted with him as is, I can hope for his downfall because he's a garden-variety piece of shit. Whatever catharsis or moral vindication might come out of evidence that he is a pedophile would be outweighed by the fact that it would mean children were victimized by him.

I don't get joy out of gleefully speculating that someone I despise fucks children. I don't want anyone fucking children.

He's polluted the airwaves since the 80s and probably wasted millions of hours of airtime. It's unfortunate that time wasn't spent positively, like education or cultural issues.

At very best, The Rush Show is some kind of sadistic post modern art, like feces splattered on canvas.

he watched the Super Bowl from the owners box. I think he got exactly what he wanted out of it. These people in the end are in it for themselves. Rush made a lot of money, when Rush is dead does he even care if his non-ideas live on. The idea of the conservative cause or whatever is total *. These people would or do sell each other out in a heart beat.

The day I had to put down my elderly gelding I asked his friend (who was working on his siding) to turn down the volume. When I explained why, he nearly started to cry with me.

But he turned Rush down, and then off completely.

Apparently for good, because all I've heard since then is rock'n roll. Much, much better for all of us

To understand Limbaugh you first have to realize he doesn't believe 90% of the bullshit he spews. He's nothing more than a "Morning Zoo" type DJ who lucked onto a very profitable schtick and milked it for decades by becoming more and more outrageous.

He's finally reached the end of his imagination and he can no longer even remotely sound convincing. The dead air is him groping for new material to get the hicks pissed off and he's having trouble doing it. The dildoheads would buy if he could come up with it but he can't.

His voice sounds like it did a few years ago when he was losing his hearing from drug abuse. The voice is what gives it away. Apparently Limbaugh is up there with some of the top celebrity drug addicts of all time:

Prosecutors' three-year investigation of Limbaugh began after he publicly acknowledged being addicted to pain medication and entered a rehabilitation program. They accused Limbaugh of "doctor shopping," or illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping prescriptions, after learning that he received about 2,000 painkillers, prescribed by four doctors in six months, at a pharmacy near his Palm Beach mansion.

http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-201_162-1561324.html

And that number is only what they knew about at the time. It would seem that Limbaugh has some inner demons...

32. I remember hearing his very first show in 1988
Fri Nov 16, 2012, 12:14 PM
Nov 2012

while listening to WABC in NYC where he started with this format. I was a regular listener of Lynn Samuels who was on at the noon timeslot on that station and that one fateful Wednesday, she was segued over to him as the new host of the noon show. And things have gone downhill ever since, although she went downhill herself.

What I noticed about many Limpballs listeners that I know (outside of those who listen to monitor) is that they tend to come from "troubled" circumstances themselves. As much as they rant and rave along with him, if you look at their home situation, they may have kids in jail, spouses threatening them, drug and alcohol problems, workplace issues. I.e., Limpballs becomes their paperback "psychiatrist" and feeds more sick things in their minds while telling them that their problems aren't "their fault". It's pretty "soothing" to these folks but it only delays the inevitable - they must face reality and their own problems - some of which IS their fault and others of which are outside of their ability to control but is NOT the fault of people who no more have any relationship with them than the man in the moon.

Frum called these sorts of lunatic shock jocks the "Conservative Entertainment Complex" and if anyone, they have done more damage to the rethug party than anything that the opposition could ever do. But the aftermath is the collateral damage that has now occurred to this nation in terms of societal norms, respect for differing views, and intelligent discourse.
