Detroit reporter describes TFG's crowd at non-union plant

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2023/09/27/donald-trump-returns-auto-industry-strike-uaw-ev-taking-center-stage-presidential-election-joe-biden/70960155007/

Snip

About 400 to 500 Trump supporters were inside a Drake Enterprises facility for the speech. Drake Enterprises employs about 150 people, and the UAW doesn't represent its workforce. It wasn't clear how many auto workers were in the crowd for the speech, which was targeted at them.

One individual in the crowd who held a sign that said "union members for Trump," acknowledged that she wasn't a union member when approached by a Detroit News reporter after the event. Another person with a sign that read "auto workers for Trump" said he wasn't an auto worker when asked for an interview. Both people didn't provide their names.

End snip

Astroturf, like always. No grassroots. Hope they enjoyed their bus ride. IMHO.

Especially if this place only has 150 employees. Just like the big crowd that got 20$ for being at the escalator for tfg’s big reveal.

Fake Americans. We’re they promised a buck or two and got stiffed? Were they given paperwork making them poorer for tax purposes? There’s always a Republican in the crowd. Were they stupid? At a trump rally? Dude!

"I want trump to be president so that my better-paid union members get their pay slashed, just like mine!!111!! That'll teach 'em!!111!"

Same recipe as:

"A job injury disabled me but I want my disability benefits cut because 'they say' someone, somewhere, there's a person (probably one of them negroes) who might be collecting disability that they shouldn't!!11! That'll teach 'em!!111!."

I'm surprised they would allow this to be in print.

Also, geez, I wonder why these people wouldn't provide their names? Maybe because a tiny bit of research online would prove what liars they are. I would have asked them, "Who and how much were you paid to be here?"

Methinks that hundreds were 'paid' (with the Dumpster, that is a tenuous claim) to be there.

With acknowledgement from several that they weren't actually what they stated in their signs, that appears to me to be the case.

I am laughing my head off. This is incredible! How could anyone be so effing stupid as to let the wrong people a) wear these shirts, and b) be photographed in these shirts!

Who handed the damn things out in the first place?

Wow. Just wow wow wow. If you combine this astroturf with what I was saying about the phony polls, this sounds like he knows he doesn't have the support of voters and he's just out there flying by the seat of his pants 'cuz he doesn't know what else to do.

Here is a link to a post I made yesterday. It is about how market research is used to uncover trends. My theory is that trump knows he has very little voter support and that is why he's putting this theater together.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=18304560

If you haven't read the article I posted, please do, because it is qualitative analysis (which precedes quantitative in the market research field) that shows republican voters don't support him.

Utter morons. If they weren't also rage-filled maniacs, I would feel sorry for them. I think life is difficult for truly stupid people, as they have demonstrated themselves to be.
