Nancy Pelosi smacked the __ out of Matt Gaetz

Scott MacFarlane

Rep Matt Gaetz (R-FL) tells CNN, “By week’s end, (Kevin McCarthy) will either not be Speaker or he’ll be a Speaker serving at the pleasure of Democrats”

Rep Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) comes on next… and tells CNN this about Matt Gaetz, “You’re wasting your time on that guy because he has no sway in the House of Representatives”

I am thankful she's not planning on leaving just yet.

She is the master of the cool burn. As her daughter once said, "...she will cut your head off and you won't even know you're bleeding." Or something very very close to that.

If he somehow survives the motion to vacate, he will have rendered Gaetz completely irrelevant. Nancy told the Dems not to save him. I wonder what her thinking is. Trying to elect a new Speaker without Dem support would be more chaotic than last time.

in a vote to vacate the speakership--- judging by the vote on the continuing resolution, which a majority of House Republicans supported.

Unless things change a lot, McCarthy likely survives any vote to vacate, without any Democratic votes against it being needed.

Gaetz makes a lot of noise, but most of his own party can't stand him. Some Republican House members are now saying that they would like to vote to expel him from the House for his ethics issues...

He is from Florida and while that doesn’t prevent him from being Trump’s running mate it would cause a situation where Florida electors could not vote for both Trump and him as president and vice president.
