As nearly happened during the lengthy series of McCarthy confirmation votes several months back. They don't conduct "gentlemanly" duels anymore in that line of work, so he'd actually be getting off easy if another GOP member steps up and cleans his clock. I do not advocate any form of violence directed against any individual, with possibly one exception.

3. Biggs will be reelected.

People in his district will reflexively vote for those with an R after their name regardless of how awful the candidate is. The last person who ran against him had signs saying "Why did you ask for a pardon, Andy?". Ha ha, witch hunt.

Living in a very red district is hard.

4. If he fails he will be politically neutered.

I don't know if he realizes that attempting such a power move risks any political capital he currently holds in the House. If he fails he will be determined to be a paper tiger and no longer a valid player.

It's why we have the expression "If you go after the King, you better not miss".
