Is anyone else excited about the return of the late night comics???

I have especially missed them these past 5 months, especially Colbert and Meyers. Tomorrow I plan to wear my "IS POTATO" shirt in honor of the occasion.

The politicians have basically been writing jokes for them. It’s kind of cathartic to hear the late night shows bring their antics up and run their noses in it. Not that the worst offenders would ever watch them, but they’ll still no doubt complain. Just in time for tfg’s first trial.

Colbert is the only one I watch, usually just for the monologue. Like Seth but it’s just too damned late to stay up, and no, I don’t record anything for time shifting.

Would like to see what the folks here at DU prefer for late night humor.

...Colbert and Meyers. I was still recording Fallon at the time the strike began, but his show had been getting TOO silly. Hopefully the break will help him.

I have always stayed up for Colbert, but record Meyers and watch him in the morning as I get ready for work. I have a truly special spot in my heart for the Meyers family. Long story short, I wrote his parents a fan letter after one of their annual Thanksgiving show appearances. Not only did they reply, inside a FedEx envelope with a return address from 30 Rock was an autographed photo from Seth himself - with my name on it. What a kind, generous family.

It’s on too late though, and I never did master time shifting, I never think to watch when I have time, so I end up with hours of programming I haven’t watched, which is stressful in itself.

For some reason I never liked Fallon or Kimmel.

I rarely made it up that late, but when Craig Ferguson was on God he was funny.

...to see how each will cover the first trial, which is in the same city as where these comics tape.

Since I don't have a TV for a while now I'll catch them on YT as I had been before the strike, or when Rhi posts them. 👍

And I'll be posting a few Youtube links of the best from A Closer Look, certain Oliver segments from LWT, and Colbert's monologues.
