(22,456 posts)...how deeply corrupted so many federal agencies became under trump, I can't help but wonder if maybe that good boy is a better protection service for our President than the Presidential protective service is.

(33,424 posts)Joe Biden is expected to receive Secret Service protection with a new team that is more familiar to him and replacing some agents amid concerns that they may be politically allied with Donald Trump.
In a changing of the guard as well as the man to be guarded at the White House, Bidens security detail will undergo some staffing changes, the Washington Post reported on Thursday.
Several senior Secret Service agents are poised to return to the president-elects protection team and Biden knows these agents well because they guarded him and his family during his time as vice-president, according to the article, echoed in a report by CNN, citing a law enforcement source.
Re-assignments and promotions are common during transition periods between presidential administrations and are meant to increase comfort and trust between a president-elect and his security team, who shadow the commander-in-chief closely, including during private moments and sensitive discussions.

It is pretty insulting to Biden to suggest that his team is not up to the job.
Think. Again.
(22,456 posts)...he selected his own team from the agents that work for the secret service, I doubt every agent on his team are agents that have worked with him in the past.
It's no insult to Biden that, as we know, there were and probably still are, many people within the government (elected or not) that want our nation broken.
Besides, it was just a throw away statement about a dog, I didn't mean for, or expect anyone to react so strongly to it...

(621 posts)is those who Biden is replacing need to have the backgrounds checked. If there's an innocent and rational reason for dismissal, then ok, no harm, no foul. But if the background check reveals some insurrection tendencies, then there has to be repercussions.

(1,495 posts)It was embarrassing. Just the sight of him made Snuggles go crazy. We figured that he gave off vibes that were upsetting to her.
As far as that video of Commander, I'd love to have some kisses from him too. What a gorgeous boy!

(46,119 posts)He loved other people, but hated the mailman and maybe the garbagemen.
inthewind21
(4,616 posts)That would go nuts when he saw a mail carrier. He never bit anyone but the mail carrier set him off. And it was a "one day he was fine, the next he wasn't" kind of thing. And then came the day the dog broke the front window out when the mailman came. 17 stitches and bars to prevent him breaking the window again. Come to find out, the mailman was harassing my dog. Home sick one day I discovered that when the mailman came he was harassing my dog through the mail slot on the front door. Poking him with a stick, banging on the door, even spraying mace through the slot. I'd bet $$ there's a reason Commander is biting some but not others.

(28,493 posts)But Biden's dog has bitten, eleven agents so far. Eleven! And one of those bitten was hospitalized. If my dog bit even one person, the dog would probably be taken away from me. Why hasn't animal control already stepped in? I've seen some pretty stupid excuses for this dog, like the White House is such a challenging place for a dog, or that the agents have unfriendly expressions. I'd be pretty unfriendly if my workplace included a dog known for biting.
There is zero excuse for keeping a dog like this around. This actually lowers my opinion of Biden by a lot.

(6,991 posts)Not mine.
Plus I'd keep Commander around, rather than have that piece of shit tRump whose continuing to destroy and "bite" this country with his deranged, wanting to shut down the government and wanting people to suffer, dictator wanna be, maniacal, racist, election-stealing, coup and insurraction starting, wanting his vp to be hung, American-hating, putin-loving, treasonous ass.

what i dont understand is why no one is training the agents how to make friends w a dog. how hard is it to have the ss guys carry some treats in their pockets?
