ME: In-person absentee voting begins in Portland

PORTLAND, Maine — In-person, absentee voting began Tuesday, Oct. 3 in Maine's largest city. Portland residents can come to city hall Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Voting is taking place up on the second floor of city hall, in the State of Maine Room, next to the city clerk's office. The last day to in-person absentee vote is Thursday, Nov. 2, unless you have a special circumstance, city officials said.

The Clerk's Office will be open until 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 only for voter registration and in-person absentee voting.

Resident do not need an appointment to vote absentee. There are many candidates and issues on the ballot including five candidates vying to become the next mayor.
