If Patrick McHenry was hoping to become the next Speaker

He probably shouldn’t have evicted Pelosi and Hoyer from their offices.

He’ll get zero Democratic support.

27. No. It's not a rule of the House. It's a republican conference rule.

It was adopted by the republicans, for the republicans. It is essentially an internal rule applicable to the republican conference, enforceable only by the republican conference and subject to amendment, waiver or simply being ignored by the republican conference if that's what they decide to do.

Sound familiar? They’re abusers.

Kevin expected waves of love for killing Ukraine aid and single-handedly starting an “impeachment inquiry”

And have nice jobs lined up in the private sector in case they lose their seats in 2024, which a very vengeful Republican Party will spend a LOT of money to make happen.

It would have to be Republican Reps from swing districts to begin with, and they could just tell their voters that a few crazies in their party perverted the whole process, and they can no longer caucus with a party that spends more time with theatrics than governing.

They would have to know before ever starting to think about such a move that a vengeful Republican Party would pull out all stops to see that they get defeated as Democrats next year, so they would need to have decent private sector jobs lined up for that case. I would think that for four or five people, Jeffries would have the connections to make that happen.

They'd have to be the kind that put country first. Rare breed, that, especially republican types. But so much hangs on a good congress: Ukraine, global warming, the environment, health care, etc. etc
