This is the perfect example of how CNN promotes Republicans and attacks Democrats .....
Left: After 330,000 jobs are added under Biden
Right: After 178,000 jobs are added under Trump

same with politics
ads and money and American media landscape is owned by Oligartha

Too many jobs is bad for business!! Too much power to the people!!??..,so the propaganda begins again..its the same propaganda since the first dollar bill was minted.

(7,839 posts)Republicans are the instrument. Isnt that clear by now, even as it seems crazy!
The picture is clear enough to me!.
Oligarth Media really feeling its oats after the giant white spy balloon manipulation challenge went so well! The challenge now is to manipulate America into voting for a fascist,,,again!! So far so good!!

(7,839 posts)The goal is power over thinking, turning a giant white rudderless ballon into had to be shot down over the ocean,.,!!?.. into something menacing was a great example on display its also what the ad buyers want to see can you manipulate the public as you please?

(5,425 posts)The job of major media is to manufacture consent favorable and useful for the oligarchs.
Want it to be different? Buy your own media. What? Dont have a few spare billions? Then, starting in the primaries, cultivate candidates that will fight for fairness in media.
Yes - in our lifetimes it will require expanding the courts.

(23,344 posts)They're a lot like their own kids:
Rich, spoiled brats who prefer being with Uncle Fester because they can get away with anything - with Uncle Fester, more often than not, joining in on the hijinks himself.
Of course, though - then come the drug rehab bills...

(3,711 posts)He is too boring and normal while they made a fortune under Trump, as he destroyed the country.
Dave says
(5,425 posts)Because of his Main Street bias (as opposed to Wall Street). His desire to build from the bottom, up, and middle out.
Cancelling student debt at a cost of $800 billion? No way! Where does the money come from? Bad President. Reducing taxes mostly for the rich at a cost of $1.7 trillion? Think of all the yachts and luxury cars we can buy! Good President.
Its not conspiratorial, its just that the apple does not fall far from the tree. Mostly super rich own massive shares in major media. They support election of chairman of the board who share their worldview. The chairman hires a Managing Editor who also shares this view. The ME hired editors who dont stray far. The editors hire journalists who also dont stray far. Thus Biden bad, Trump good.

(22,218 posts)Most of these scribblers are youngsters who think 3% mortgages are normal and forget that was due to the Feds incredibly lose monetary policy following the financial meltdown and subsequent long slump. Until then, 6 to 8% was the norm since Volker tamed the Great Inflation in the late 70's / early 80's. They came of age in an aberration and think it's normal. That applies to many in the financial markets as well.
Moderate inflation is a good thing. It's the sign of a growing, healthy economy. The 2% target isn't a magic number and some at the Fed admit that might not be the optimal level. But scribblers and some Wall Street types alike came of age in a time of very low inflation driven mainly by an economy trying to get out of the Great Recession. They simply don't know any better. They go on and on about the supply chain driven spike from the Covid recovery that has mostly worked itself out and we're now at a healthy rate of inflation since early 2023....around 3ish %.
Add that to their other biases, false equivalences and general myopic reporting and you get this kind of disconnect. It's not just bias. They're quite lazy and not that smart. Thinking and context are hard so they'd rather run with the flock. It's just easier that way. Ugh.

(39,086 posts)economy there are editorials everyday about the "coming recession". Every day I hear ads saying "due to a decline in the economy" and
"during these hard times". We have record low unemployment and every day I hear "Nobody wants to work".

If Biden manages to get the minimum wage raised to $20 then it will matter.
Maybe his next term they will do that.

(24,978 posts)and receive some criticism for it. But they are handing the election to cheato and we need to speak up. If DUers don't watch and don't want to hear about CNN's coverage, fine. Ignore the threads. But CNN is complicit in influencing Biden's bad poll numbers and ignoring their skewed coverage will get us nowhere. I did a lot of ignoring in 2016 and we see where that attitude got us. I think we should all be screaming about this.

(11 posts)This is why we need to press our elected democrats to pass legislation to rein in the media. Enough with this right wing propaganda and misinformation! We need to give the government more control over whats said in the media because its entirely too dangerous to allow these people to spread obvious falsehoods and misinformation.
