High fever. Body aches. Sick to stomach. Shivering almost unbearable. I gotta say the last two were not as bad. I do feel a bit like a small truck ran over me and am tired. Got latest shot yesterday.
I think it might be becoming more tolerable because I had the original strain pre vaccine. And last two shots one was a bivalent and this last one a totally new strain. So my body isnt going into over drive. Moderna btw.
Some hope for people who have reacted like I have. Its a bit traumatic to put yourself through. But I have done it each time. And I hope this might help others who are hesitant. Go get it. You will get through it.

(13,384 posts)but still get mild temp and feel bad for at least a day. Arm pain lasts longer.
I have decided to get all my shots on Fri afternoon so I have weekend to recover. Even the flu shot my arm is super sore for days.

(5,468 posts)I felt tired the next day for the first couple. Ive felt just fine with the last 4.
I have a cancer that severely impacts my immune system. I fear that my feeling just fine might mean Im getting no benefit from the shots. Maybe they havent been engaging my immune system, whereas those of you that have a harder time are getting deeper benefit.

(3,120 posts)I got for covid caused a barely noticeable feverish condition about 8 hours after, but it was extremely mild and was gone when I woke up the next day.
Now the shingles vaccines on the other hand, those kicked my ass royal style, most especially the first of the two.

(6,674 posts)but it's been smooth sailing with Covid shots since then.
Last Friday morning I got both my flu and pneumonia shots in the same appointment, and by that night I was as sick as a dog. I felt better by mid-day Saturday, but that was a rough 16+ hours.

(6,028 posts)Latest Covid, flu, and 2nd pneumonia all at once. I've done two a time, but never three. I won't do that again.

(24,653 posts)people who react strongly to the vaccine probably needed it the most. You may be more susceptible to the virus than those who have no reaction. I've never had a reaction. Just got my 6th 2 days ago. I've never had COVID. I did, however, have a severe reaction to the pneumonia shot. Arm hurt so bad I barely slept for 4 days and I felt like crap.

(82,334 posts)High temps, flat in bed for 3 days.
I feel certain actual covid would send me to the hospital or kill me.

(9,072 posts)That's how long it took me to recover from full-blown covid and get out of the ER and then off the couch.

(82,334 posts)I always get sicker and have drug reactions to meds.
I usually have to take pediatric doses of all meds.
This last vaccine, I had a 101 degree temp for three days.
Flat in bed. And severe vertigo. Room spinning like crazy.
Still dizzy a week later.
My theory is that I was born two months early, weighed less than two pounds.
My body didn't get a chance to cook all the way.
And I am small now, so things hit me hard.
I can only imagine what would happen if I got covid.
Otherwise I am pretty healthy.

(23,063 posts)This last one caused wicked teeth-chattering shivers for about 3 hours.
Didn't take my temp.
Felt tired for a day, then everything resolved.
