(4,533 posts)...would they have ever expected him to become president of the USA? I doubt it! Don't judge a book by its cover.

(38,258 posts)That photo, or one from around that time, was spammed all over the place by conservatives whipping up hippie-hate against them. After all, they didn't want moderate Republicans (actual moderates, who had not yet been politically exterminated) thinking they could work with these two.

(90,306 posts)The campus radio station and newspaper offices were full of them. Great way to meet men back then, because there weren't many girls interested in either of those activities, at least not yet. One of those guys eventually turned into my husband.
I think the ratio at the radio station at the time was 60 guys to 4 girls. How could you miss?

(90,306 posts)We're at Year 47. And at the Grandparents' level now. Can't believe how fast it's gone. And he still has his hair, although much shorter and thinner. Total coverage, though, remarkably enough. But his dad died with a full head of hair, even at an advanced age.

No wonder they had their feisty moments!

(25,159 posts)but that generation was the "soundtrack" of my entire childhood and young adulthood. The music, the attitude, the fashion are still influencing me to this day.
