Liberty University students were scared they'd be 'punished' for being assaulted: report

Essentially, a rapist could come forward about their crime and name their victim. If the victim doesn't come forward, he or she is the one punished for violating the so-called "chastity" rule.

It's unclear if the amnesty problems were addressed in the Fall 2022 update of the code as only that version is available on the University's website.

The report alleges, "Liberty’s amnesty policy, officials told department investigators, 'was poorly defined and barely communicated to campus community members,' including resident advisers charged with enforcing The Liberty Way."

-snip-

To make matters worse, the report also revealed records were "selectively destroyed" when they should have been kept.

We know enough, not to let our sons in a pup tent with a youth pastor.

Having read through some of the key parts of Liberty's so-called honor code, I'm reminded of the old saying that goes something like this: "If God didn't exist, Man would have to invent Him." This is an example of that. They love and almost worship their rules and regulations because they can use God as justification.

I was raised in a fundamentalist church, attended a fundamentalist college and then was a member of various fundamentalist churches for many years. This reminds me why I got out and why I'm happier today than ever.

But I feel bad for the children who have been indoctrinated and groomed within an inch of their life, then go off to college for more of the same. They end up unprepared for the real world and struggle to think through and respond to the inevitable dilemmas and contradictions of everyday life. It's no wonder so many of them, broken and disillusioned, end up leaving the church altogether.

Why would their parents want them too?

If you're going to buy into religion, at least shop around and find something that is safe for your family.

The place my witty friend named plays a lot of football and has sex scandals of their own to compliment their mandatory Bible courses.
