This is why the people crying about sympathy for the Palestinians will ultimately not be heard. This attack was absolutely horrendous for the nation of Israel. Worse than 9-11 when you consider their much smaller population. Think to yourself, what would Russia do if someone fired 5000 rockets into Moscow and invaded killing and kidnapping tens of thousands of people? What would we do? I won't be surprised if Israel simply razes Gaza, kicks everyone out, and annexes the land.
