Central Coast of California, that is. I just don’t automatically orient toward the East Coast.

A few exceptions, sure... but it's pretty much the whole story, globally.

Humans have been beating each other with stones and sticks and taking their land for as long as we've been walking on 2 limbs.

Homo sapiens and Neanderthals and Denisovans and Homo naledis.

Humans and almost-humans have been a terrible pox on the planet. We've been here for a small blip of time in the context of the cosmos and have managed to ruin the environment and inflict unceasing horrors upon each other.

We pay rent to the tribal owners of this land. The reservation that they were relegated to with the Treaty of Point Elliott is a sad fraction of what was once their ancestral land. Paying rent to the tribe assuages some of the inherited shame of what our forefathers did to America’s first people. Living on their land is an opportunity to better understand each other’s culture.

I'm honestly curious why you singled out the Quinnipiac tribe. Were they the first people established in North America or something? I feel like I'm missing something connected to the specificity of your statement.

14. Yup. Every single American who isn't Indian is a European colonizer

I've never heard complaints about that though.

But I hear endless claims that Jews who live in Israel are European colonizers who stole all of Palestinians land, despite most Palestinians originating from Arabia.

Once again, it's Antisemitism plain and simple.
