General Discussion

because I hated using the touch-screens on my devices.
But, because they were "inexpensive" (cheap) they only lasted about 5-6 month before they failed. I bought two of them...lesson learned!
So...when I had to use computers constantly when I was working, I used a very reliable brand of wireless mouse and keyboard. I thought...what the hell, let's try their bluetooth keyboard (well over twice as expensive)... only had it for a few days so far, and at first I was very disappointed.
All of my other keyboards had "bumps" or "devices" in the middle of the keys to indicate where your index finger should be placed. All of them that I had those indicators in the middle of the "J" and "F" key. I was so disappointed when this new (highly recommended) keyboard didn't have those indicators.
UNTIL ...Duh,duh,da,duh!!!!
The indicators ARE THERE...THEY ARE JUST LOWER ON THE KEYS THAN I'M USED TO.
MY BAD...RIGHT NOW I'M LOVING THIS KEYBOARD.

(108,987 posts)Seriously, get a good wired mechanical keyboard and it will last you years with very minimal maintenance.

(4,607 posts)everything has to be put in a safe and secure spot.
Bluetooth is much more convenient for us.
I also had wired keyboards back "in the days" and they worked great, but not so handy now.

(26,013 posts)But the fruit company does not sell one. Only ones with magic inside and/or fingerprint sensor, but not lighted. (Laptops do, but I also need that 27 inch display ). No 27 inch laptops are available.
So I bought a third party keyboard. I'd have preferred wired, but after jumping through hoops, I got it to work with BT and not just the dongle.
P.S. wired stuff ALWAYS works.
Some stuff is made for young people. Especially phones. Only reason I manage with the phone is because I am very nearsighted and that's my distant vision when my glasses are off.
