(7,549 posts)but admire their work and efforts. What a joy. As someone who is nearsighted and worn glasses for 64 years (since I was 10), I am in awe.

(34,998 posts)There are dozens and dozens of videos like this. And, that's not counting the ones featuring babies and kids getting hearing aids or cochlear implants. It's a HUGE time sink!

(26,454 posts)My former husband's nephew was barely 1 year old when he got his glasses. Before that, he did not play with baby toys like other kids. He ignored people who tried to show him those little Fischer Price stack-the-rings toys. Instead, he held up a ring to his face and stared at it with a blank expression. I wondered if he had a cognitive impairment, but did not mention that to his parents.
Their pediatrician suspected vision problems and referred them to a specialist in children's and infant's eye care. What a difference those glasses made! No more scowling and squinting. He perked up, smiled, and quickly picked up what he had missed before when people tried to show him things.
