(26,315 posts)It is a two part picture set. Top photo is Gaetz with the caption, "See you later alligator."
Bottom photo is a crocodile with the caption, "After while, pedophile. "

(310 posts)So apparently some people see it and others don't. I'm certain OP saw it when they posted it, and had no idea anyone would have a problem.

(6,269 posts)charges still pending since 2021? If it's true he was on the floor of the House showing photos of the underage girls, naked, that should be enough. To sanction or expel him? These lawless times for politicians are amazing.

It's better to post a screenshot of the Xweet rather than something with live links to Xwitter.
Maybe someday live Xweets will be banned on DU. Thank you

(42,084 posts)You don't even need an account there in order to upload your image and share it.
Just click on this: https://imgur.com/
In the upper left corner next to the Imgur logo, click on the "New Post" button.
They give you a window where you can drag and drop the image (usually for me it's a Jpeg file) and it only takes a second.
Then you right-click on that image you just uploaded and they give you the address that you can copy/paste onto your DU post.
Easy-peasy.

(26,170 posts)I opened the snap in a new tab, and it's at imgur, one of many hosting services.
The "deal" is that DU requires a link to your image hosted elsewhere.
Most people are not used to this; they share via email, dropping into messages or copy and paste, etc.
Basically:
take a screensnap
Optionally edit it to get your URL bar out of the snap
Open a browser window to an image hosting service
drag and drop your snapped image (desktop) or select it from your photo album (mobile)
click on a button and a link is returned
Optionally edit the link to remove extraneous info in it
Copy and paste it to your post.
SIMPLE! (not)
I did a quick lookup of ways to cut out a step or two.
Here are some (a bit dated). posted as alternatives to Droplr, which costs monthly
https://www.techspot.com/article/790-free-screenshot-sharing-apps/
One might use the automatic uploads and sharing of Dropbox or Apple photos, though I have not tried them.
https://experience.dropbox.com/get-organized/best-way-to-share-photos
https://help.dropbox.com/share/share-with-others
I mention dropbox because they have a free tier, which should do for such casual use.
Now, in case you think I've made this post a little verbose to challenge others to come up with easier ways, you're right.
Show me a simple way --- fewest steps --- to share screenshots!!!
Otherwise I have to code something up, and external image storage with programmatic access (by my code) to store and share photos it not free AFAICT.
Bottom line is that it has to be about as easy as emailing a picture, and that doesn't exist yet, again AFAICT
A catch is that sometimes links returned by hosting services may contain frames, ads, whatevers, that mess up your DU image post.

If there are new, factual, legal developments, might be prudent to post that info with links, imo.

(77,068 posts)No way for the OP to fix that.
I thought the suggestion was to the OP. Otherwise the reply should have specified the source of the error.
