Some are convinced that the whole MAGA speakership debacle is merely a matter of rank incompetence:

whereas SOME of us have begun to wonder whether it's something ELSE:

What if all of this hubbub of finding the next speaker is just an act - a "freedom" caucus pantomime of a democratic process whose real aim is to go absolutely NOWHERE?

Any thoughts?

The republican plan is to stop our govenment from functioning at all. Period.

2. Well, the Freedom Caucus was by and large

in favor of a shutdown - so that wouldn't be particularly clandestined or secret agenda. On the other hand - passage of the continuing resolution would tend to indicate that there's a fair number of Rs that are not. Looks like we (might) have an eventual way of distinguishing the bomb throwers and seditionists - from those that have some interest and intention in running a government.
(prior to this there has been quite a bit of 'cover' available for those that were satisfied to 'talk the talk' .. that cover is peeling away.)
