Breaking: IDF Spokesperson
From the analysis of the operational systems of the IDF, an enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed through the vicinity of the hospital when it was hit.
According to intelligence information, from several sources we have, the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization is responsible for the failed shooting that hit the hospital.

(18,613 posts)Or IDF strike hits ammo dump.
I don't know... we will probably never know because BOTH sides are capable of spinning.

(60,186 posts)They would be able to detrmine from the debris pretty quickly who fired the rocket that did the damage.
It is just as clear that whoever was responsible will not be eager to let anyone impartial conduct that investigation.

(22,695 posts)A time on target strike coordinated with an enemy rocket launch that coincidentally passes over the targeted ammo dump (that should not have been anywhere near a hospital) .

(3,276 posts)If Israel directly targeted it, then might as well own it - Backlash is the same.
More likely to be one of Hamas's improvised rockets failing and landing on one of their many weapons caches. Hamas can't exactly own up to blowing up their own hospital, so of course they'll claim it was a Israeli bomb that did it.

(101,852 posts)I'm not a "rocket scientist" but Occam's Razor suggests that there are remnants, and the remnants would indicate who fired it.

(22,983 posts)were fired from within Gaza towards Israel where one or more failed and hit the close to the hospital area, then yes, unfortunately lives were taking because of it.
And yes, there are quite a few of those ammunition sites throughout Gaza.

(4,616 posts)am suspicious of pretty much all Tweets. Especially those who are "reporting" "facts" from the US about the happenings in Israel/Gaza and who's twitter account, when clicked on "suggests" in the "you might like" area republican congress people.

(12,598 posts)Look through my previous posts. I posted it here to give Israel's response ASAP.
As for probability - I'll quote the first response here: 'A misfired rocket just happens to hit an ammo dump near hospital or an IDF strike hits ammo dump.'
If however, after a through accounting, the IDF can confirm that there were no strikes at that time, in that area, I shall accept their version of events.
