This mentality has polluted the airwaves for 40 years now with increasing stridency and progressively less and less deniability. Some of the "hot talk" shock jocks (starting with the execrable Michael Savage, IMO) have been calling for blood for years, barely concealed behind eliminationist rhetoric. And now online, we have the worst of the worst: OAN, NewsMax, RSBN, PraegerU, etc. As for C-SPAN, it has become something which more resembles a carnival freak show than its intended role as a public information service. That is especially true each time they field calls from their audience on shows like the largely unwatchable Washington Journal.
