Initial reports were that 1/3 of Palestinians support Hamas. That would imply that 2/3 of the population do not support their government, particularly in light of how so much of the population has remained destitute over past decades.

Also, your post seems to imply that the only 'realistic' way out of this is to eradicate 1,000,000 Gazans. Maybe you should take a long look in the mirror to see what this reflects.
