1. The worst delusion is that wealth confers wisdom

and the higher the numbers on that portfolio statement, the more godlike the wisdom becomes. That's why they have so little respect for borders, boundaries, laws, and the people who created their wealth for them.

If they were truly wise, they'd realize they need us a hell of a lot more than we need them and instead of donating flashy amounts of cash to other foundations* headed by other rich men, they'd raise the wages of the people who made them rich instead of being total dicks to them and seeing how low they can push their wages.


Foundation: a nominally charitable institution started by rich men to employ their adult children at stratospheric salaries while donating occasional sums of cash to other foundations. See: foundation death spiral. The endowment and subsequent stratospheric salaries to the heirs is a way to get around inheritance taxes
