Trump Now Says Sydney Powell Was Not His Attorney
Donald Trump on Truth Social attempted to distance himself from Sidney Powell after her plea deal with Georgia prosecutors: Despite the Fake News reports to the contrary Ms. Powell was not my attorney, and never was. In fact, she would have been conflicted.

(17,802 posts)Yeah, it would have been pierced anyway, but now there is no need.
Btw, it is irrelevant to the charges if she was your attorney or diaper changer. You still conspired with her.

Sidney Powell pleading GUILTY and accepting a deal means more of the focus is on PO1135809. More shoes are going to drop, including that of Jeffrey Clark and Mark Meadows.

(20,897 posts)If she was "not his personal attorney " but just an attorney in the room at the time, NO privilege can be called.
There needs to be records and proof of payment that Poqell was on the payroll. But yhen, we all know his M.O. about paying lawyers.

(17,562 posts)I can't imagine the position "The Mayor" is in.
First, of course, is how far he has fallen - from "America's Mayor" to "American Mayors Funniest Videos" (sweating hair dye - groping in his own pants).
And now - serious 'legal' decisions: Continue to defend, lie, and cover-up for the guy that won't pay him, OR, give it up and start singing like the chicken hawk that he is.
Lots of fun stuff to be watching for in the days to come...........

(26,257 posts)witnesses thus far, and we're yet to see tRUMP really get the worse of it. And thus far, almost 600 or so, who were part of the mob that attacked Congress on 1/6, have been convicted or pled guilty to some sort of crime. I know (or I suspect) that the DOJ under Garland are still going after the those on the ground grunts, but still haven't touched any of the bigshots, Jordan, Trump, Gaetz, etc.
I will feel better when the wheels of justice is turned onto them, and one is finally put on trial, convicted, and punished. Just one, is that so hard to ask for? If the DOJ wants to ensure Americans that Justice is equally applied to all, then they (DOJ) need to really start greasing up the wheels and go after these upper-level echelons that participated in the events of 1/6. There were a substantial number of GOP thugs that refused to sanction Pres. Biden's win, this right here, is a good starting point. We already know that tRUMP is under the gun, but I'm looking for more of the 'middle management' that participated too.

next co-conspirator domino to fall, and if I'm allowed another guess, John Eastman will also plead out sooner than later...Rudy will be the last one to flip, his legal bills are piling up and Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss are standing by...
as for Ivanka not happy about the prospect of facing Daddy on the witness stand (NY fraud trial)...she can rest assured Daddy would still date her regardless of her testimony

(18,515 posts).... to appoint Sidney Powell as a Special Counsel to investigate all the fraud in the rigged 2020 election that Biden supposedly won.
This way Sidney could act as an inside but private lawyer for trDump,... but the US Taxpayer could pick up the entire tab.
Standard modus operandi of the Orange Menace,... order the cake and eat it too. Don't forget the two generous scoops of ice cream.
