HANG UP OR PUT IN TRASH. I received one of the calls. Since I don't deal with CVS, I googled it.
CVS Pharmacy will never call and request this type of information from our customers. Do not provide personal information to anyone you do not know. Never provide credit card or other financial information to unsolicited callers.
I know what I would like to do to these thieves and it isn't pretty. Or legal.
I realize people that post here are pretty savvy but many of us have elderly loved ones or neighbors etc.

(3,782 posts)Again, no request for information and even the name of the drug that's ready is munged by just giving me the first few letters.

(4,140 posts)Big retailers ask you to opt in to these services so that prescriptions get picked up in a timely manner.
But if you did not OPT IN, then it is a scam.
I like that they have improved the system to tell me how many and the first three letters of the prescription that is available, so that I can decide whether or not to wait until they are all ready or if I need to pick up an important one while they wait on the other one.

I looked today and I think I get @ 70 phishing emails a day. I would think corporations would get up a task force to stop them because the spammers are dirtying their reputations.
Oh and I only answer the phone if I know the caller.

(17,802 posts)It has the first three letters of the drug name so I know what is.
They will also call with an automated call as it gets closer to being pulled from the shelf.
Never a live person.
If I need to talk to them, I call a number I know is cvs or use their app. I don't accept inbound calls for anything unless I know the person.
Wonder Why
(7,236 posts)Keeps them busy trying to enter this data anywhere.
Then, again, I've at times told them I'm hard of hearing and would they please call me back at my special phone number, which just happens to be the non-emergency number for the sheriff's department (but I don't tell them that).
But mostly, I just ignore phone calls that I am not familiar with and just let them go to VM or answer the phone by saying some takeout restaurant name and asking them what they wish to order.

(5,478 posts)send the prescription to me. I just hung up so do not know how much information that they claim to require in order to send something. I am on a lot of 'do not call' lists but some still get through. For some calls it says it is spam so I know not to answer. It still ticks me off because my balance is bad and sometimes require a cane and my home phone does not come to my smart watch. That means I have to walk to the phone to answer it and if my reading glasses are not handy, I can't read who is calling. I just wanted alert people so they can pass it on to their elderly or gullible friends or relatives.
