...he's trying to hide or muddle the association for some reason, but here he wants to get away with denying soliciting the donation from the right wing billionaire who is bankrolling several camaigns directed against Pres. Biden, not just this multi-millionaire upstart.
If I did, he prevaricates on his answer, like most people telling untruths do to avoid being called on it when the truth eventuallyouts...
President Joe Bidens new challenger for the 2024 primary, Minnesota congressman Dean Phillips, says that he doesnt recall the circumstances of a maximum contribution check his 2020 congressional campaign cashed from right-wing billionaire Harlan Crowbut Phillips allows that its possible he solicited it personally.
I do not remember ever making a call to Mr. Crow, Phillips said on Friday, in reference to the $2,800 donation Crow made in June 2019, though he acknowledged putting in a great deal of fundraising call time in his first campaign. If I did, by the way, and theres evidence of it, I will be the first to acknowledge it. (Federal campaign finance records show the existence of the donation.)
In response to The Daily Beasts questions at a press availability ahead of his presidential campaign kickoff in Concord, New Hampshire, Phillips also said, I dont believe Ive ever met Harlan Crow. The wealthy Texan is widely known now for his close relationship with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, which included an array of unreported gifts and perks paid by Crow.
While he said he genuinely did not know how the donation came about, Phillips promised, I will be honest.
Sometimes, I get it wrong, and when I do, its the job of an American president and a member of Congress to say you got it wrong, not to hide it, not to ignore it, Phillips said. I dont know the answer to the question, and when I dont know the answer, Ill let you know.
...that's not 'honest'. It's a deflection.

(3,179 posts)I was more surprised they brought out Flair. He was on death's doorstep not long ago and I don't think it's a good idea to showcase him with his issues, but I can see why they did it.

(63,254 posts)But the money in politics BS is only a facade.
I was wondering today what his motivation for trying to hamper Biden and all I kept coming up with is money. It seems like the motive is always money or hate.
Funny how he popped up when second - no third - rate Bobby junior went independent.
Methinks there is a much deeper story here than we are getting.
But he does sound concerned as he puts his hand out.

IS that his wife to his right because when Crowe was mentioned she gave him a sly smile then buried it. As if to say caught with the hand in the cookie jar.
So who groomed him telling him lies that he looks like Bobby Kennedy?
