WASHINGTON, D.C. -- After a decade in which Democrats have shown increasing affinity toward the Palestinians, their sympathies in the Middle East now lie more with the Palestinians than the Israelis, 49% versus 38%.
Todays attitudes reflect an 11-percentage-point increase over the past year in Democrats sympathy with the Palestinians. At the same time, the percentages sympathizing more with the Israelis (38%) and those not favoring a side (13%) have dipped to new lows.
Sympathy toward the Palestinians is also at a new high among political independents, up six points to 32%. However, more independents still lean toward the Israelis (49%).

Think. Again.
(8,418 posts)...it is not "Palestinians" who are "shelling or carrying out brutal attacks against the state of Israel."
It is hamas who is doing that, against the wishes of the majority of Palestinians in Gaza.

(11,370 posts)sympathies run greater - when Israel is not being attacked.
(and you're talking to someone that has had a fairly diminished level of 'support' - and certainly for some of the actions and stances - for the Israeli state - for a fairly lengthy period of time. Hamas has managed to increase that score by several tics)

(6,110 posts)It is hamas. Just like the American people did not invade Iraq in 2003. The US government did. I was vehemently against it. I am not a rethuglican. Not all Palestinians are hamas.
