Just another conservative dickhead.
And nobody should be amplifying anyone who celebrated the Hamas attacks but this is ridiculous.

Thunberg said the world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected, as the Israel-Hamas war escalates and threatens to become a regional conflict.
Thunberg also shared on her Instagram account a post by a German-based pro-Palestinian account which says a genocide is happening in Gaza.
The group, Palestine Speaks which celebrated Hamas' lethal assault on Israel two weeks ago talked of its "indignation against genocide in Gaza and the repressive state terror of many Western states against anyone who shows and acts in solidarity with the Palestinians.

(98,883 posts)you choose not to directly mention in the OP, specifically that he was NOT speaking on behalf of the IDF, but was expressing his personal views. That omission in the OP I suspect was intentional.
Arye Sharuz Shalicar later apologized for his remarks about Thunberg supporters and said, "I spoke out of a deep sense of pain and my words do not reflect my personal views or those of the IDF."
Thunberg herself also issued an updated statement. "We are of course against any type of discrimination, and condemn antisemitism in all forms and shapes. This is non-negotiable," she said.
but of course not directly mentioning that in the OP had a purpose I suspect

(3,234 posts)And that's the point.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them. Israel is a fascist government run by a guy who's facing several corruption charges & took away much of the the power of the courts. Dissent will literally land you in jail & your personal possessions seized.
Gee, that sounds pretty familiar doesn't it?

(98,883 posts)challenge in the Israeli Supreme Court before the Hamas attacks. In addition, the latest polls before the Hamas attack indicated that Netanyahu is in political trouble, and Gantz is their preferred prime minister by a margin of almost 2 to 1, and would gain the majority of seats in the Knesset, or parliament,
The Hamas attack will not help him either, and when the situation is stabilized, there will be a vote of no confidence, and he will lose.

Same for random spokesmen from said groups.

(98,883 posts)personal views, and he was not speaking on behalf of the IDF. That information was clearly left out of the OP, and one would need to go into the article to see the full context, which is the following:
Arye Sharuz Shalicar later apologized for his remarks about Thunberg supporters and said, "I spoke out of a deep sense of pain and my words do not reflect my personal views or those of the IDF."
Thunberg herself also issued an updated statement. "We are of course against any type of discrimination, and condemn antisemitism in all forms and shapes. This is non-negotiable," she said.

(3,234 posts)So are we now not holding people accountable for what they say? He is the head of the IDF. He speaks for them literally. He's a public figure.

Public figures can express their personal views also.

(15,463 posts)And Greta probably ought to be a little more careful in 're-posting' from sources that showed approval of the Hamas attack (although that is not always apparent in a feed 3 weeks on).
And the word 'genocide' is being used fairly liberally these days. That's probably not helpful.
It's also probably somewhat relevant that both statements have been walked back by now
