https://futurism.com/neoscope/elon-musk-ketamineCOULD THE NOTORIOUS HORSE DRUG BE TO BLAME FOR ELON'S LATEST ANTICS?
"special K"?
In Ronan Farrow's sweeping and detailed look into the current Muskworld palace intrigue for The New Yorker, one choice tidbit stood out: those close to the billionaire's orbit are concerned that as he continues to pile more onto his plate, he may be self-medicating, and that the horse tranquilizer-turned-recreational-and-therapeutic drug may be what he's turned to.
As Farrow notes, there's been increasing chatter including from Musk himself suggesting the world's richest man is, at the very least, interested in the drug's therapeutic effects.
Though he has declined to comment on the story, the SpaceX and Tesla owner did not, as the report notes, deny that he has used ketamine, and after the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this summer that multiple people had seen him use it, he tweeted in apparent support of the drug.
Drugs? Moi?

(8,815 posts)Elon said he microdoses for depression. Microdosing psychedelics & drugs is pretty popular now. Take naltrexone- its usually given to alcoholics & drug users at 50 mg - but thousands now take low dose naltrexone for pain - at doses of 0.5 to 5 or 6 mg. Im glad hes not overdosing as he will be providing Star Link to the UN and Red Cross working in Palestine- after Israel cut all internet off.
Microdosing is nothing new in Silicon Valley culture with tech execs and employees claiming that tiny doses of psychedelics help with focus and increase creativity. Further away from the tech hub, and mirroring Musks use, the potential of psychedelics in treating different medical conditions has also been gaining popularity.
In fact, psychedelics have even been part of the investing landscape for a while now, too. The past few years have seen several companies in the healthcare space have designs in getting treatments with drug compounds approved for use in treating all sorts of conditions such as anxiety, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.

Ketamine no better than placebo at alleviating depression, unusual trial finds

The man doesn't need ketamine. He needs a professional who can help him take a good hard look at himself and his toxic ego.

(8,815 posts)Lots of studies using psychedelics for treating those with severe depression. It is a dissociative - so you can look at your life from a distance - probably why he felt like that.
My eccentric writer/artist neighbor is big on ketamine trips. I must say he is really out there when hes tripping on ketamine but he says it helps him create. My neighbor is definitely not microdosing!!

(42,004 posts)He has a dreadful issue called cyclic vomiting syndrome. Its related to migraines. Hes been hospitalized for it many times. They only tried ketamine in the whole cocktail of things they give him a couple of times.
I know theres a whole microdosing thing. Ive thought about it, but Id have to really trust the therapist. The idea of being addicted to it is interesting. Psychologically maybe.
