The eldest of 14 children, Rashida Harbi was born on July 24, 1976, to working-class Palestinian immigrants in Detroit. Her mother was born in Beit Ur El Foka, near the West Bank city of Ramallah. The name Rashida means "righteous". Her father was born in Beit Hanina, a neighborhood in East Jerusalem.

I'm pretty sure her district includes at least parts of Dearborn, if not most/all of it, and Dearborn has the highest concentration of Muslims per capita in the country. Tlaib has also won resoundingly in the last couple elections, so there's also that.

I'd say the odds are good many of her constituents are on the same page she is.

And I fully include MSNBC in that bunch. I used to have hope for a "liberal" TV news outlet but Truth and Facts just don't sell anymore.

Over the years, so, so many lies from our state dept. and Israel (and so many others) too many times to believe anything issuing from them.

I'm sure that you have, at least, heard of, and possibly read, Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States? So, you would know that IT happens here quite a little bit.

Note that hardly anyone has seen that video - 1,200 views, about 24 hours after it went up (for comparison, this thread has had over 1,800 views). She is edited into it, but it's not clear that she has anything to do with the shots of the demonstration or its claims, as you say in another reply.

What she has said was:

"To my president, to our president ... I want him to know, as a Palestinian American and somebody in Muslim faith, I'm not going to forget this. And I think a lot of people are not going to forget this," Tlaib said.

"President Biden, not all Americans are with you on this one and you need to understand that. We are literally watching people commit genocide and killing the vast majority just like this, and we still stand by and say nothing. We will remember this," she warned.

every horrible injustice he commits against Muslims and Arab Americans will be on her hands. She is using her platform to incite and divide, to encourage her supporters to vote against Biden, or to not show up at the polls, and in a swing state, no less. That's pretty dangerous, especially when you consider some of the things Trump is already proposing doing to Muslim and Arab Americans. Does she actually think that Muslims and Arab Americans (or Palestinians in Gaza for that matter) will be better off under a Trump presidency? Is she actually that stupid?
