1. The IDF has troops in Gaza already.

Pausing operations means they become targets and have to defend themselves, or pull back (which is only like a 2 mile drive, so...).

2. They could pause bombing civilian neighbourhoods

while they invade the tunnels. Or something.

3. Some don't seem to care how many civilians they kill

They believe that if it takes a million dead Palestinians in Gaza to get all of Hamas, they will kill a million.
