Beware of a facebook scam: Coldwatercreek clearance sale

You can still go to the real site and it's perfectly safe, but there's a facebook clearance sale that is fake and yet totally convincing. Full catalogue of all the regular images and colors and sizes and even the email replies and shipping stuff. Except that none of it is real and it's out of hong kong.

If you fell for it, go to your credit card immediately and dispute it. Mine refunded me instantly. They know all about it.

Now I know to go to the real site and not follow a link.....

1. Good advice. I don't trust ads on Facebook; if I see something interesting

I go directly to the advertiser's web site. Even if the Facebook ad is real, if you buy anything through that ad Facebook makes money and you end up besieged with even more ads.

5. Yeah, I got that one in my feed, as well.

It seemed kind of hinkey, so I googled it separately from FB. One of the first things that showed up was "BBB is now at Overstock.com." That's all I needed to know about whoever put up this ad. They weren't Overstock.com.

I got the Coldwater Creek one, as well. I hit the "X" on that one.

3. I lost only $35 dollars when I ordered a surplus laptop from facebook, when they sent me a link for tracking

It was a bogus link. I will never buy from a Facebook ad again, that said if I see an interesting item I’ll go to eBay and buy it a lot more cheaply!

You know its a scam when they're advertising outrageously low prices.

I think it was because Mrs. Aristus had bought their entire stock.

It sure seemed that way. We had to turn a spare bedroom into a walk-in closet for all of her clothes.
