Mississippi: They've run out of ballots in 9 districts in predominantly black areas

But I'm sure it was just an innocent mistake

At least 9 precincts in Hinds County—Mississippi's most populous county and the home of the 83%-Black capital city of Jackson—have run out of ballots in the statewide election.

The polls are set to close at 7 p.m., but court orders could keep them open.

BREAKING At least 9 Hinds county precincts have run out of ballots, according to the clerk. Election officials are now scrambling to quickly print new ballots and rush them out to the polling places. It could be a long night this Election Day.

I wonder how a county that has a 93% black population could run out of ballots? It's almost like they wanted to suppress the vote of the black community.

Many voters who are told there are no ballots will go home. I wish they would hang out waiting for provisionals or a court order but this is just another voter suppression tactic.

It could also be that the local election board printed up what they considered to be a sufficient number of ballots based on the history of voter turnout in off-year elections. Cash-strapped government agencies will cut costs where they can, and the elections commissioners may not have been eager to incur the expense of printing a lot of ballots just to see them get pulped. You can see their names at the link though they aren't pictured.

Kidada Brown, RaToya Gilmer McGee, Jermal Clark, Yvonne R. Horton, or Shirley Varnado? Was it an individual effort or all of them working together to disenfranchise their county's voters? Or are the elections commissioners helpless to run the elections in their county? What's your theory, or better yet, what's your evidence?

bring in the Feds now to enforce fair voting.

Crap like this and all the gerrymandering and getting away and benefiting is why it continues.

"At Millsaps College, Reeves was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, a controversial fraternity that has faced accusations of racism.[8] In 2019, yearbook photos surfaced showing members in blackface and Confederate uniforms, but it is unclear whether Reeves was involved."

when a 'mistake' happens to benefit those who are in power, an investigation is warranted.

That would indicate to me that this is less sabotage and voter suppression and more unexpectedly huge voter turnout.

But by all means, let's go nuts with the conspiracy theories.
