Tonight's election results have gone a long way in preserving my faith in American democracy

4. Never mistake loud for large.

A nice little piece of wisdom from my old psych studies. We are so inclined to believe loud, aggressive seeming groups are a big representation of what’s out there. And if we ignore them they can be. But if we get off our collective butts to truly believe we are more, and won’t be depressed out of voting, we’ve got a way out of this mess. A long one, but a way.

5. Voting should be fast, painless and easy.

6. Democrats won all the way down to the local school boards.

People don’t want the Nazi Mom Brigade AKA Moms For Liberty controlling what books students can read and making LGBTQ kids feel endangered.
Maybe people are waking up and seeing what fascism looks like.

The GOP in the Massachusetts State Senate are outnumbered 'bigly," but I hate that any MAGA can win in this state.

9. Even in our small town,

in a very red county in Iowa, while the people who I know are Democrats lost in our local elections, the vote was 60/40 in a town where party registration is 75/25.
