Ohio Republicans claim amendment changes nothing

Ohio House Republicans claim it has no impact on existing laws. They also plain to say the judicial branch has no jurisdiction over the issue.

New fight begins.

This is an actual press release from the Ohio House Republican Caucus.
They're claiming Ohio's new constitutional right to abortion access doesn't repeal the abortion bans passed by the legislature

Now that the GOP says the constitutional amendment does nothing,
they've kept the issue alive and democrats (like embattled Sherrod Brown) can have success running on the issue.

But they have no force or effect. Like the exclusionary covenants on deeds, they're a legal nullity.

But by all means, Ohio Republicans, keep reminding women that if it were up to you, you'd reduce them to second class citizen status and rob them of their right to make their own health care and reproductive decisions. Women love that!

If the Amendment means nothing, they could have saved all that money spent on disinformation and instead used it to attack minority rights, teachers, scientists, and librarians.
