DECEPTIVE OHIO ISSUE 1 MISLED THE PUBLIC BUT DOESN'T REPEAL OUR LAWS
Foreign Billionaires Don't Get to Make Ohio Laws
Issue 1 doesn't repeal a single Ohio law, in fact, it doesn't even mention one, said Representative Bill Dean (R-Xenia). The amendments language is dangerously vague and unconstrained, and can be weaponized to attack parental rights or defend rapists, pedophiles, and human traffickers.
Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) said, We will continue to be a voice for every child in their mother's womb who cannot speak for themselves. Representative Beth Lear (R-Galena) stated, No amendment can overturn the God given rights with which we were born.
To prevent mischief by pro-abortion courts with Issue 1, Ohio legislators will consider removing jurisdiction from the judiciary over this ambiguous ballot initiative. The Ohio legislature alone will consider what, if any, modifications to make to existing laws based on public hearings and input from legal experts on both sides.

The people of Ohio voted and now Ohio is going to try to have their votes nullified!

(37,535 posts)On a technicality.
One that you could look at with your right eye closed and say, "Yeah, they're right." But close your right eye and open your left eye and you think, "No, the other side wins."
But the judges had their beliefs.

(38,643 posts)On the concerns now being raised, since the yahoos tried to keep the amendment off the ballot for the very same reasons before the election.
I'm sure they will still claim the heartbeat bill is consistent with our new constitutional rights and refuse to change it, and I'm equally sure it will be declared unconstitutional by the supreme court. It will be messy - and it will still pose undue burdens until the cases wind their way through the courts. But ultimately, it is a good, solid amendment.
My concern is more that there will be repeated attempts to repeal it, and that voters will be unable to sustain the energy that got the amendment passed in the first place.

(23,727 posts)Because if they do it'll give our side a super large talking point heading into 2024. Something
along the lines of reQublicans national wide refuse to do want voters tell them at the ballot box.
And that includes the Supreme Court, they lie to get on the bench and then impose their brand
of religion on everybody.
TIME TO KICK ALL THE FASCISTS OUT OF POWER, they only do what they want to do and the hell
with what the voters ask of them. They tell you to go to hell, then tell them the same on election day.

(23,499 posts)"Baby" or a "Child" in a womb. EDIT - I was wrong. It starts with a zygote then a morula which is just a group of cells then it becomes a blastocyst, then an embryo and then a fetus. After it pops out of the birth canal it is a baby.
I have found so many anti-abortionists lie - constantly - if the lie will help their cause.
