ORourke told a panel convened Thursday by the Harvard Kennedy Schools Institute of Politics that he was inspired by Bidens 2020 messaging in contrast with the Trump administrations border policies.
When Joe Biden was running in 2020, he ran with such incredible moral clarity on this issue: We will no longer put kids in cages because theyre not animals, we will no longer tear babies from the breasts of their mothers, literally what Trump was doing in his family separation policy, ORourke said.
Were going to restore the soul of America, and were going to live up to our promise. Man, that was inspiring to me. I needed to hear that, living on the border and as someone who really cares about that."

(6,991 posts)The GQP US Taliban Putin-loving shipping migrants to BLUE States Party is NOT exactly working either Beto, nor is their not working to make comprehensive immigration a thing, as they want to hold onto illegal immigration coming across the border by the trillions as their wedge issue, because forcing abortions onto raped woman who are impregnated by rapists and forcing an 11 year old to have her father's incest baby a thing. It's just plain filthy--even in states where normal Republicans live, like in Kansas, kentucky and Ohio.
Go back to your nap Beto,Toodles 😴
(You know that the GQP in your state stole the Senate from you, right? You have other issues yyou should have worried about).

(21,901 posts)Is he saying that Biden is too liberal, or too conservative on the issue? Not sure if Beto wants to build a wall or let more people in, he wasn't clear.

(12,651 posts)that put more restrictions on asylum, that would block the eligibility of a lot of people. This policy is similar to one of the Trump-era policy. That policy is blocked per an order by a federal judge. My understanding is that Beto is being critical of that policy. It seems like he's advocating to make it easier to let people in, and he's unsatisfied that the administration is making it harder.
I guess Joe Biden can't win. He's either too soft on immigration or too hard, and nothing in between.

When you look at what is actually happening on the ground, you see that it is a system infested with some of the worst elements of our uniformed services. You can make all the rules and proposed changes you can but if the folks on the ground are against you and they can do much of their stuff unseen, things aren't going to pan out as planned.

(102,794 posts)BP and Customs have been dirty for as long as i can remember. A house cleaning and possible reorganization are long overdue. Many of them are dead certain that they are above the law.

(9,760 posts)Seems like if Biden isn't directly addressing your favorite hobby horse in public, out loud, in triplicate he isn't doing anything.
How ungrateful can people be.

(8,878 posts)I like the guy, but he is not helping by expecting Biden to be both POTUS and US Congress. It just doesn't work that way.

(6,687 posts)Why Biden needs another term. So many problems at once need more time to resolve. Beto seems to be out of work, perhaps he could lead a plan to fix immigration? The more he bitches, the more that hurts Biden methinks.
