In this video (which may have been posted already; sorry if so), Christie takes on the Trump hecklers at the beginning and end of his recent speech. This is why, if there has to be a Republican presidential nominee, among the current crop of bobbleheads, I would prefer it to be Christie (I know, he's polling at 2%). He is the only candidate to speak some semblance of the truth about the orange menace to the howling idiots instead of trying to mollify them.

(8,452 posts)But he is not a fascist, yet he lives in the party of fascism. I give him kudos for calling out the jackals, but he has his ilk are now useless to the new Republican Party. There are LOTS of people out there like Christie who vote and their "fears of socialism" will keep them voting Republican, even if that Republican is going to end the American experiment. They are now just useful idiots.

(2,010 posts)Not a fan of any of them, but they have earned a modicum of respect for their displays of courage and sanity, in the face of mean and crazy magats and opportunists. Who would have thought we'd have anything nice to say about any republicons? Just for speaking up, not being brainwashed, and showing true patriotism?
And most of them are no longer in office because their party has become the GOPQ, and been taken over by cult 45. Still, they have not left the party and will support and vote for harsh gop agendas if given the chance. As I've watched the party devolve, I've been surprised it's still operating. I think that's where this no labels 3rd party is coming from, mainly a lot of dissolutioned conservatives who won't vote for Dems because of their "fears of socialism" but see the need to distance themselves from the GOPQ.
We've got just under a year now until the election, and it's going to be a doozy of a year. Primaries, court trials, wars involving our allies, GOPQ dysfunction, no labels movement, and more. But in the end I believe it will be a rematch of 2020, and Biden will win again.

(131,231 posts)Maybe he's finally seen the light, but his efforts to elect TFG and to support the GOP in general got us where we are now. All I can say for Christie at this point is that he's finally right about something, and that he'd be a better president than TFG, but that's not saying much.

(12,597 posts)I'll give him credit that at least in the end, he's called out Agent Orange and his minions. A bit late, however, now that it's beyond obvious the MAGA Movement and their Dear Leader is a clear and present danger.
To everyone including Christie.
Never forget, never forgive.
