His mother left his biological father before young Jeff was 2. His mother remarried when he was around 4. His adoptive father was a Cuban refugee, who worked at Exxon for 32 years.

Bezos was already close to 30 and working at the highly prestigious hedge fund D.E. Shaw in New York when he started Amazon. He had not just his own money, but also pitched a lot of others. If his parents hadn't contributed, others very likely would have made up the difference.

I don't think Jeff Bezos's life story as someone who was given everything (unlike a certain former president). You can argue nobody should have as much money as he does, but he definitely didn't grow up rich.

There are plumbers who are "millionaires", but let's just go with a few billionaires.

Steve Jobs adopted father was a machinist and car salesman.

Oprah Winfrey grew up poor, she's a billionaire.

JK Rowling also had a middle class upbringing.

Howard Schultz of Starbucks has a truck driver for a father.

Plenty more examples...

And if you study Musk, his father never gave him a dime for his businesses... in fact by the time Musk reached adulthood, his father was bankrupt.

And the emerald mine BS is just... BS.
