(6,684 posts)A McCarthy detail? He's a nobody congressman these days.

(13,431 posts)security as well?
niyad
(132,429 posts)as they hold the gavel. Prior to Speaker Emerita Pelosi, once the gavel was gone, so was CP protection. After the attack on Paul, Congress authorized one year of protection for her after she stepped down. At the end of that year, CP will do a threat assessment to see if protection needs to be extended. same for future Speakers, based on threat assessment.

(53,214 posts)And probably some hairpulling as well. They look like streetfighters to me.

(81,248 posts)They are both nasty pieces of work to begin with and then they are both always hyped up on various drugs.
PatSeg
(53,214 posts)Petty, spiteful, and always looking for a fight.
It cracks me up that Margie goes by her initials "MTG", as if she is some icon like FDR, LBJ, or MLK. I refuse to do it. That is something a person earns.
Irish_Dem
(81,248 posts)So on top of her usual mean girl routine we see her steroid rage which makes it even worse.
PatSeg
(53,214 posts)But it does make sense.
Irish_Dem
(81,248 posts)Muscles were important to her.
Affairs with guys at the gym.
People have pointed out her facial changes indicative of steroid use.
And we can see her anger issues and outrageous thought processes.
TSExile
(3,363 posts)...are those helmets with beer cans and straws!!
PatSeg
(53,214 posts)and affairs. Steroid use certainly would fit her lifestyle and explain a lot. Well, plus she is a self-absorbed narcissist.
Irish_Dem
(81,248 posts)The steroid use story has been around for a couple of years now.
I think she and Matt Gaetz were an item right before her husband had enough
and filed for divorce.
PatSeg
(53,214 posts)What a match those two are. Yuck.
Irish_Dem
(81,248 posts)together if you recall. A series of political rallies across the US.
Pictures together of them looking quite cozy.
Then MTG's hubby files for divorce. I guess he had enough.
PatSeg
(53,214 posts)So were there rumors that she was having an affair with Gaetz. I knew they spent a lot of time together, but it never dawned on me that they had a thing going on. Gaetz tends to prefer them younger.
Irish_Dem
(81,248 posts)Just putting two and two together. Looking at the entire summer they spent together on the road.
The cozy pictures, and then hubby filing for divorce.
We suspect both Gaetz and Marge do some sort of drugs, so that does alter one's judgement.
Gaetz likes kinky and we know Marge had a public affair with a tantric sex guru from her gym if you recall.
Then in terms of the divorce, it looked like the husband was going to play hard ball with the divorce documents
being shown in public. Going to be messy. Then all of a sudden it goes totally quiet, we hear zero about the divorce.
It is all hush hush. I figure hubby had the goods on Miss Marge and so she asked him how much $$ he wanted and then she handed it over to him. He goes radio silent.
PatSeg
(53,214 posts)I can picture them having one long wild party. We know that neither of them has any scruples and they're loving this gig in congress.
Irish_Dem
(81,248 posts)They get their supply of fame, power and money.
It is intoxicating and highly addictive.
They both lean sociopath as well, so the "get out out of jail card free" afforded to most members of congress
is especially attractive and heady stuff for them.
Yes I think it is one long party for many of them.
PatSeg
(53,214 posts)I think they especially love the attention.
Irish_Dem
(81,248 posts)The narcissistic fix.

(53,214 posts)I get so irritated when I hear journalists and commentators use such initials, thus giving her more status than she's earned. And it isn't just Greene. I find it annoying and lazy when TV personalities refer to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as AOC. I really like Ocasio-Cortez, but I find it premature to call her "AOC". Maybe some day in her case though. Obviously, never for Marjorie Taylor Greene.

(115,186 posts)It's so depressing still seeing nonsense like this.
I wish it was more popular to comment on people's behavior without bringing sexist language into it.

(100,133 posts)My pet name for MTG is thug or she-thug for her bellicose face and aggressive behavior. A Southern friend of mine has been calling Ms Boebert Bobo the Clown ever since she first showed up running for Congress, and that actually works.
I call Ted Cruz the human hagfish for his trail of slime, and I suppose I should apologize to actual hagfish for that.
Girls ? All right arrested development in the extreme.
redqueen
(115,186 posts)We will never get freedom from patriarchy if we keep making excuses to reinforce sexist ideas.
What you just said reminds me of some southerners who say they only call the bad Black people the N word. This example is nowhere near as ugly or hateful of course, but the excuse is just as unreasonable.

(4,964 posts)I point this out only for purposes of TV history. Back in 1996, I watched the episode of the CBS limited series "Central Park West" in which the two screen legends, Raquel Welch and Laura Hutton, act out a raucous scene wherein their characters engage in a brawl in the atrium of the elegant hotel and end up wrestling in the shallow pool of its iconic fountain.

(8,610 posts)They blow this budget up and the reverberation won't end until November next year. They know the whole world is watching, too.
They're getting phone calls and texts from their voters, and they cannot hang this on Trump.
They cannot afford to fail either. Crashing the Government and the economy over "Culture issues" just before Thanksgiving is a very bad look for them.
A GOP house divided against America cannot stand.

(68,197 posts)These people simply don't believe in governing, they just want to disrupt democratic processes. I truly believe they are there for that purpose: to disrupt so NOTHING gets done! Then they can usher in their Leader, Trump, and he can rule like a demented one of the Senators in ancient Rome, bent on destroying, not ruling wisely, installing an Emperor who is insane and sets fire to Rome. Burn it all down!
