Oklahoma Democratic Party reacts to state Supreme Court's ruling on anti-abortion laws

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — The Oklahoma Democratic Party has released a statement on the Oklahoma Supreme Court Ruling on Anti-Abortion Laws.

'The Oklahoma Democratic Party is cautiously optimistic regarding the Oklahoma Supreme Court's ruling today against some of the nation's most extreme anti-abortion laws enacted in our state by an extreme MAGA governor and his Republican cohorts, HB1904, SB778, and SB779'.

Alicia Andrews, Oklahoma Democratic Party Chair said "Democrats believe that women hold the innate right to control their bodies and decide when they would like to start a family. Today's ruling demonstrates that while we still have more to do, we can appreciate the small steps being made to protect women's healthcare and reproductive rights in our state... The Oklahoma Democratic Party will not stop and will continue to fight to protect women's rights to control their bodies. What is a private matter between every woman and their healthcare provider needs to stay that way and should not include the decision-making of unrelated non-experts and the government".
