Is Trump Above The Law

So a judge finds that Trump engaged in an insurrection and the 14th Amendment applies to everyone who took an oath to defend the Constitution, except the president.

This decision means that Trump must be put on the ballot for president but he will be banned from the ballot in Colorado were he to run for a lower office.

DC Appeals court meeting today to decide whether or not Trump is allowed to threaten judges, clerks, prosecutors, potential jurors, why not? Just say anyone other than a candidate for president must not threaten people.

The closer it gets to the election the better chance that Trump has to avoid being held accountable.

Time Matters.

We say he's not above the law, but in order to make it a reality someone has to actually make the call to lock him up.

But trump is an unacknowledged terrorist. His words can get people killed.

I think a lot of these lower Court judges would prefer for the Supreme Court to handle all of these issues. They don't want the blowback that might come from gagging him or keeping him off the ballot.

Soon, our corrupt rightwing "Supreme Court" will let us know whether trump is above the law, like them. It'll be interesting to see where they land.

but with the RW court we're stuck with, I somehow suspect they would *avoid* seeing the urgency of the matter...... It wouldn't be in the repuglikans' (or the oligarchs who own them) interest to rush it, I think.

That is certainly a federal case, with a federal question. Smith can apply for certification, but it's not very likely to be granted, IMHO

The ironic thing, and we know so many people are irony deprived, is that trump is not "macho" in the way we usually define it. His vain comb over, the orange make up, his sexualization of his own daughters, his "firing" people with a tweet instead of face to face, his lying about his weight and height, his lack of physical activity even when golfing, his lying and exaggerations.

All he is, is loud talk. What does he actually do? He gets others to do the dirty work.

I was just thinking how maybe 20 years ago, if a man wore as much makeup as Trump does on a daily basis, he would be considered weird. Besides all the homophobic and trans stereotype insults that orange makeup would elicit. Stereotypes he and his Nazis are very happy to perpetuate.

And yet he goes around wearing clown makeup and his macho toxic masculinity Nazi buddies don't say a word.

Take Trump's money away and he would be nothing. If not for his father's leftover capital, Trump would be just another common criminal with weird makeup.

In theory the answer should be no.

If every judge in our country thinks it's "too dangerous" (read: are too cowardly) to subject him to the same consequences that literally anyone else would get, then the answer is yes.

If I went into Engoron's court room and incited violence against his clerk, I would be in Rikers.

We can't be complacent, assuming he will be neutered or go to prison (LOL!) by Election Day. That will not happen.

We need to mobilize and get out the vote. It is the only way to stop him.

It's not just TRUMP who has been shown to be above the law, his henchmen are walking away unscathed. Imagine what the Nuremberg trials would have been like if they had allowed plea deals.
