It does raise interesting questions though of where should free speech start and stop in the electronic media age. And who gets to say when what seems like reasonable limits to things like hate speech becomes excessive censorship or steps on the First Amendment. Seems currently there are three arbiters-- ultimately the Supreme Court on the First Amendment aspect, the advertisers who will hopefully doom Truth Social, and maybe even X, and then of course those of us who consume, or refuse to, the social media dialog.

Surely the GEs or Fords of the world don't want free speech laws to cover what is said on their shop flours. I think with these clowns simply seeming to be for freedom by filing cases is the prize. It is the publicity. Musk is baiting the left.

the narrative on social media into a Freedom thing that banks points for autocratic GOP whether or not social media is regulated. Flip the script back to the extreme right being freedom loving even though the autocratic are not (and certainly not for free speech if Trump is going to do in (retribution) his enemies if he gets elected or media matters gets sued and investigated for pointing out the problems on X).

I'll tell you EXACTLY why Elon Musk bought Twitter: tax loss.

He needs it, and he wouldn't be the first rich person to buy a company that was bleeding cash to get it.
