The Red Cross will be allowed to visit unreleased hostages in Gaza, provide medical assistance, as part of deal

Israel is telling its ministers that the Red Cross will be allowed to visit unreleased hostages in Gaza and provide medical assistance as apart of possible hostage deal.

What's excellent about this?

Those hostages shouldn't even be there in the first place, unless you forget, it as Hamas terrorists that kidnapped them and made them hostages.

Hamas needs to release ALL the hostages and surrender, renounce their goal of wiping Israel off the map and killing all Jews.

...however, until they ARE freed, it is excellent news that they will be receiving medical care from a non--hamas organization.

(Did that really need to be explained?)

Hamas doesn't exactly have a sterling record on the truth thing.

...I was curious why the article didn't mention what kind of assurances we have that either hamas or Israel will not actually harm the medics, but I guess the medics feel it's a risk they are willing to take.

but I see no reason Israel would want to harm the medical people, that would be a HUGE black eye for Israel and would garner worldwide condemnation, including from me despite my obvious support for Israel.

...both hamas and Israel have made it very clear that they won't allow civilian deaths to get in the way of carrying out their missions.

I just hope this isn't any kind of set-up for further violence.

But it will remain very difficult that others have been released, while their loved ones remain in captivity.

In a second phase, Hamas could release dozens more women, children and elderly people in return for Israel extending the ceasefire by several more days.

An Israeli official said Israel is ready to give another day of pause for every 10 hostages Hamas releases.
"We think Hamas can get 70-80 hostages. For all we are concerned it needs to bring hostages from the Islamic Jihad and other factions that hold hostages," the Israeli official said, referring to groups that are also holding hostages.

That's why Kirby said today that the US can't support their expansion of the war, without protections for civilians.

Netanyahu: Israel will continue war 'until we achieve all our goals'
Benjamin Netanyahu has been addressing his ministers during a meeting of the government to discuss the hostage deal.

Israel will continue its war against Hamas even if a temporary ceasefire is reached to release hostages, the Israeli prime minister said in a televised video statement, AP reported.

“We are at war, and we will continue the war,” he said.

suddenly Hamas is the good guys here doing something that should have never happened in the first place by kidnapping and turning these innocent people into hostages.

We've really reached the point where black is white and white is black.
