Before the Israel vs Hamas conflict started 10% of CNN's air time was about the Ukraine war. Now it is down to 1%. I know the middle east conflict is important, but did Ukraine war suddenly become unimportant. By the amount of coverage on CNN and other cable news you would think the war suddenly ended. Have some balance, media.
Coverage dropped. Less bombing, less destruction. Less pathos and no plaintive calls for a ceasefire when dealing with Ukr. Bucha is past, and bombings of Kherson or the occasional store--not enough emoting.
In addition, ceasefire in Ukr means the bad guys win. Ceasefire in Gaza, from my listening to a lot of news coverage, means the good guys win--and the oppression of the indigenous stops. It's not white Slavs bombing white Slavs, it's a social justice issue, not just a political oppression issue.
If you're on the right, then it's a question of Putin versus Zelens'kyy, as well.
Then there's the "all politics is local" issue--a lot of media attention is through the lens of domestic protests for and again, arguments, etc.
