The Kennedy assasination

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by REP (a host of the General Discussion forum).

I was in the 8th grade and entered my American History class when I began hearing the news that President Kennedy was thought to have been shot in Dallas. The school principal soon confirmed the death of the President over the school intercom system.

On the following Sunday, my family returned from morning church services and my older brother was watching TV at the moment Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby. We immediately began questioning when this occurred and he responded that it just happened and that the news was 'live', that is wasn't a replay.

Regardless of what anyone else thinks about the Warren Report findings, I am not now nor will I ever be satisfied that the true story has been told. I will never accept that a Dallas area nightclub owner (Ruby) decided to slip in and kill the suspect (Oswald) for any other reason than that it was his assigned task to see that Oswald never testified. To this day, I have never believed there was no conspiracy.

also lincoln and mckinley.

when you read ancient history and the list of popes, heads of state, courtiers etc getting topped by skullduggery, it's just impossible to believe that all american assassinations are done by "crazy loners".

i love michael parenti's riff on that theme.

I know of absolutely no one who have ever bought the Warren report. No one- in fact the only place I have encountered people who defend it are here at DU. Rather odd, huh?
