This just in! UN Women "alarmed" by reports of gender-based violence on October 7

Last edited Sat Nov 25, 2023, 06:04 PM - Edit history (2)

UN Women is "the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women."

Yesterday, on November 24 2023, UN Women made its first statement on what happened to women in Israel on October 7. It reads as follows:

We remain alarmed by gender-based violence reports on 7 Oct & call for rigorous investigation, prioritizing the rights, needs & safety of those affected.

So for all those claiming that the UN and other organizations have abandoned Israeli women-- here is proof of the opposite. Only seven weeks after video proof of sexual crimes is broadcast around the world, the UN's organization for women will issue a one-sentence statement where they can't even be bothered to write out the word "and".

Here's the tweet, if you doubt UN Women had the courage to speak out on this subject. And to really bring home how much they want to discuss this, they disabled comments on the tweet.

(Yes, obviously I'm being sarcastic.)

Not just here in the US but everywhere. The massive celebrations on 10/7 as Hamas went on their pogrom was quite enlightening 🤬

And the silence from women’s groups about this issue has been grotesque

They can choke out the word Israeli when referring to the October 7 victims.

Earlier link was to a tweet supporting Gazan women-- one of many of those since October 7.
