UN Women is "the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women."
Yesterday, on November 24 2023, UN Women made its first statement on what happened to women in Israel on October 7. It reads as follows:
So for all those claiming that the UN and other organizations have abandoned Israeli women-- here is proof of the opposite. Only seven weeks after video proof of sexual crimes is broadcast around the world, the UN's organization for women will issue a one-sentence statement where they can't even be bothered to write out the word "and".
Here's the tweet, if you doubt UN Women had the courage to speak out on this subject. And to really bring home how much they want to discuss this, they disabled comments on the tweet.

And the silence from womens groups about this issue has been grotesque
