In a startling revelation, the Florida Bulldog has uncovered the tragic circumstances surrounding the death of Peter Antonacci, the Director of Floridas Office of Election Crimes and Security. Antonacci, a pivotal figure in Florida politics, collapsed and died in a hallway of the governors office on September 23, 2022, following a contentious meeting, allegedly after arguing with Governor DeSantis. What is most shocking, however, is that he lay there for 24 minutes before being noticed, raising serious questions about the oversight and emergency response protocols in one of the states most secure buildings.
Peter Antonacci, aged 74, was a key player in Floridas political landscape, having served under both Republican and Democratic administrations in various capacities. His sudden collapse and death occurred moments after he abruptly left a meeting in the governors office. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) records, obtained by the Florida Bulldog, reveal a disturbing timeline of events that day. (the entire FDLE report is below)
The records indicate that Antonacci lay on the floor, dead or dying, for over 20 minutes before anyone noticed. Surveillance footage, which captured the incident without audio, shows Antonacci staggering and then collapsing in the hallway. Despite the real-time video surveillance, it took nearly a quarter of an hour for any response.
When Capitol police finally arrived, they found Antonacci pulseless and initiated CPR, but it was too late. The automated external defibrillator (AED) advised that no shock was needed, indicating the grim reality of his condition. This delay in discovery and response has led to questions about whether quicker action could have saved Antonacci.

He was planning on being potus next, or at least senator, but his pudding cup has sailed it seems.

(18,639 posts)however he can only be elected to two consecutive terms. Ron must be out of office for at least one election cycle before being eligible for re-election.
Maybe DeSantis will change the law after he realizes his dream of becoming president is dead? He already changed the Florida law stating he could not run for president while being governor.
I knew he had changed the law to do something and thought it was that he could run as long as he wanted.

(43,170 posts)Time out, Florida voters will realize that they had an albatross as a governor.
Seriously, ever since he tumbled into his death spiral downwards in the primary race, my life has been so much better for not having to see white boots and for not having to hear that nasal voice.

(23,354 posts)Seriously though - Biden, besides having been a great president, utterly flummoxes Repugs.
Because no matter how much they try to get their voters to hate him, they just can't.
He's just too likeable, and exudes too much grandfatherly goodness, for anyone to hate him.
They just end up sounding like some nut off his meds, attacking the town's favorite grandpa, when they try.
like they purposely didnt help. No one passed him in hallway for 24 minutes? Hard to believe.

(79,057 posts)Next month will mark 20 years of people having to put up with my insufferable contributions on DU. Every time I've read about the tragic death of an obnoxious republican -- "tragic" only in that it didn't happen years earlier -- I have responded with something like, "I hope he is okay." And every time, one person thinks, "Poor old fart doesn't know what he is saying. The guy is dead!" And my good friends try to gently correct me.
On this very OP/thread, a record has been set: two good people attempted to kindly correct me, making this more like a clockwork orange. Let me be clear: I am a combination of ignorant, misinformed, and stupid. That's a given. And a man with a limited sense of humor, prone to telling the same joke over and over, for twenty years or more. And surely it is in horrible taste to make light of the death of a republican -- which is exactly why I continue to do so.

I would imagine His Eminence takes up nearly a whole floor with his office, which also comprises secretarial suites, conference rooms, a private bath with shower, a couple of staff bathrooms without showers, and a kitchen. Likely the hallway is just a short walk from the secure door to the offices to the elevator. Security is great for DeSatan, not so muh for his visitors.

(43,170 posts)I thought he probably died immediately, too, when I read the story.
As bad as this is, is this any worse? I was in Port Authority and saw a man collapsed by the escalator. This was in the days before cell phones.
People just stepped over him.

(3,721 posts)1. Head of election integrity was in a meeting with DeSantis.
2. Meeting was heated, and head of election integrity departed meeting abruptly.
3. Head of election integrity collapses in hallway immediately after leaving conference room and dies.
4. No one notices him on the hallway floor for 15 minutes.
5. Police report of the event has some creatively placed redactions.
Likely scenario is that this 74 year-old man had a sudden health event and died, with the event brought on by extreme stress caused by unknown events that occurred at the meeting. His quick departure form the meeting could be that he felt something coming on and was fleeing the conference room to seek medical attention.
Conspiratorial scenario is that the election integrity officer was favoring "election integrity" in a discussion with DeSantis - who was arguing to bypass election integrity - and election integrity officer was poisoned by persons unknown who were in the room in order to prevent said officer from leaking events that occurred within the meeting. A conspiracy theorist might hypothesize that fentanyl or cyanide was administered to the victim illicitly. I'm not saying this is what happened. I'm saying this is what a conspiracy theorist might say. I'm just asking the question and posing the hypothetical.
Who wants to bet we won't see any autopsy results? Who wants to bet the body has already been cremated and the toxicology specimens have been mysteriously misplaced? I'm not suggesting anything. I'm just asking the questions.
