George Santos Accuses GOP Colleagues of Drunkenness, Adultery, Insider Trading
Santos isn't going quietly.

When NC Congressman Madison Cawthorn was embroiled in one controversy after another, most of his Republican colleagues rolled their eyes but did nothing. Then Cawthorn was caught on tape accusing them of engaging in drug fueled orgies, and his support evaporated, he drew a primary challenge from the Republican establishment, and he was defeated.
George Santos seems to be doing something similar, but he appears ready to take down some of his colleagues openly after they have already abandoned him.
Shortly after the House Ethics Committee issued a scathing report detailing his crimes, fraud and deception, several Members of his caucus announced their intention to change their previous votes and support a motion to expel Santos from Congress when the session resumes. It appears that the votes are very close to the two-thirds necessary for expulsion, with many observers predicting that he is toast.
Santos started off my ripping the House majority for getting nothing accomplished in 2023: "We have spent the bulk of our time figuring out who we are as a Republican conference while stalling progress for three weeks ... We have passed 21 pieces of legislation - none really consequential. We have spent so much time censuring one another, expelling one another, going after one another. We're doing absolutely nothing. It's like a dog chasing its tail. It's abysmal."

(7,972 posts)He was born on third base and had everything ironically in his favor via frat-boy misadventure causing disability providing him major sympathy points. And Cawthorn was only cross-dressing ironically.
Note: cross-dressing is totally cool, unless you're a hypocrite about it.
North Carolina Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn claimed that he has been invited to an orgy in Washington and had personally seen leaders in the efforts to curb drug addiction doing cocaine.
Cawthorn, who was elected in 2020 as the youngest person ever to serve in Congress, made the comments during an appearance on the Warrior Poet Society podcast with host John Lovell.
Lovell was asking Cawthorn how close the fictitious TV show House of Cards was to real life as a member of Congress. To which Cawthorn said this:
The sexual perversion that goes on in Washington being kind of a young guy in Washington, where the average age is probably 60 or 70 [you] look at all these people, a lot of them that Ive looked up to through my life, Ive always paid attention to politics. Then all of a sudden you get invited Were going to have a sexual get-together at one of our homes, you should come. What did you just ask me to come to? And then you realize theyre asking you to come to an orgy. Some of the people leading on the movement to try and remove addiction in our country, and then you watch them do a key bump of cocaine right in front of you. And its like, this is wild.
As the story states, they were all cool with Madison cross-dressing and humping sleeping cousins until he started airing others' potential dirty laundry.

(7,972 posts)Of course I was being sarcastic, but he was blessed with good genetics and the best possible situation. As I said, he had every advantage: Aryan good looks, youth, money, a sympathetic tale of tragedy. We're lucky he wasn't able to use all of it to his advantage as a smarter person would have.
I kind of subscribe to the RPG school of thought that you get only so many "points" distributed to charm, intelligence, strength, ambition, etc. The game rules sometimes allow you a "perk" if you also select a corresponding "disadvantage" (like your intelligence is maxed but you secretly have to consume human flesh) and it's kind of a joke in my friend group when someone seems to "have everything" that there must be something fundamentally wrong with them.
In college I was relaxing in the sauna once and chatting with another student. I was subconsciously in my head like "good-looking, intelligent, works out, well-endowed, med student... he must be a secret axe-murderer!"

However, some of those scumbags may not be certain he doesn't know about their malfeasance and may be intimidated by threats that weren't even about them in the first place.

Good.
Do it.
Tell the world every dirty secret youve learned. Name names. Expose those scoundrels. Take them all down with you!

That's not much of a margin.
He'll, they can't pass shit even with 5 extra votes.

Maybe insider training but it's hard for me to seriously wrap my mind around the fact that a significant number of those in congress are participating in orgies and snorting coke....Maybe some of the younger ones (like Gaetz).

I'm sorry to have to put the sarcasm emoji there but in the current atmosphere it may avoid a ton of attacks demanding I answer for my support of corruption or decrying my use of a second exclamation point. I beg forgiveness for my heathen ways.
