While I have zero sympathy for her, I imagine this was a challenging wardrobe decision. Her husband is very noisily running for president on a platform that casts Democrats as demons, basically. So just her going to the funeral presents challenges for his campaign. They must have decided it was better for her to go, but not wear black. Wearing black would align her too closely with the Carters and Democrats. So it was decided that she wear a tailored grey suit.

Meanly, I'm delighted that it wasn't very becoming on someone who cares only about her looks. Meow.

She just wanted to stand out. And I will remember, and resent her for that selfishness, as long as I draw breath. It's NOT like she didn't know or understand the protocol required of such a gathering that would be broadcast around the world, and involving individuals and personalities known across the globe.
