Mike Pence: My Son Had to Remind Me Not to Let Trump Steal the Election
By Eric Lutz, November 28, 2023
The former veep reportedly told Jack Smith that in January 2020, he was worried certifying Joe Biden's win would be too hurtful to my friend, i.e., Donald Trump.

"SNIP..........
Were it not for the Marine son of Mike Pence, the nation might have endured a constitutional crisis worse than the one wrought by the January 6 riot. At least, thats what the former vice president apparently suggested to the Jack Smith, the special counsel prosecuting the federal election interference case against Donald Trump.
According to ABC News, Pence told investigators that he had decided to give in to Trumps demands that he allow someone else to preside over the certification of Joe Bidens 2020 victoryworried, he reportedly wrote in his notes, that performing his constitutional duty would be too hurtful to my friend. But his son, a Marine, reminded his father during a Colorado vacation that you took the same oath I took.
An oath to support and defend the Constitution, Pence is said to have told prosecutors.
He ultimately decided to oversee the count. His friend, Trump, ultimately sent an armed mob to try to stop the proceedings, with many of the insurrectionists shouting Hang Mike Pence!

(40,694 posts)He is a weak man with mediocre intellect, if even that.
I thought it was Dan Quayle who reminded him about a thing called The Constitution.
But apparently he needed to be told twice.
And WTF did Trumps feelings have to do with anything? JFC!

(15,580 posts)he swore by GOD HIMSELF to do his explicit Constitutional duty... because he didn't want to "hurt" his prideful, greedy, wrathful, envious, lustful, gluttonous, slothful "friend" -- do I have that right?

(7,520 posts)Pence seems to have NO critical thinking skills. He happened to drift into the convictions of others to decide what he should do. He could only do the right thing because of the convictions of others. He absorbed Trump because Trump was the magnanimous bully whom Pence needs to legitimize himself. Pence was the Prince of Worshippers. He nearly swooned over Trump. So Pence is no hero. He's more like The Fool in tarot parlance.

(300,941 posts)perhaps he was scared of what the Bloated Putin's Puppet would do to him.. and apparently his son the Marine reminded his Dumber than even imaginable dad the VP(omg) he took an Oath to he Constitution of the USA which trumps the Traitor.

(606 posts)M. Pence is nothing more than a weaselly piece of cow dung.
He saw just what kind of a friend D. Trump really was on 1/6.

(66,955 posts)He clearly doesn't realize this makes him look worse.
He thought about treason but decided against it because his son convinced him not to?
A horrible look.

(95,729 posts)I do enjoy that he ruined his political prospects by performing the sole virtuous act he's managed to over the course of his adult life.

But, that he even considered participating in a coup should be the whole story.
The parts about his kid & Quayle are irrelevant.

(3,982 posts)So we have a former VP whose son reminded him of his oath and duty, and a Speaker of the House who has his porn viewing monitored by his son.
Sounds like being the Son of one of these RepubQcans should earn them hazardous duty pay like we had on Subs in the Navy or something.

(23,593 posts)... I thought it was Dan Quayle who told Pence to do his job, that he had no options.
Maybe it was really George Santos who told Pence to go to work.

(3,498 posts)The SOB wanted to allow Grassley to screw up Democracy by doing trump's criminal deed. Grassley should be investigated, what a piece of s^*&t that guy is.
From now on, anyone who praises Pence for "doing the right thing" must be laughed off, if it had not been for his son that SOB would have sold his country just to make "his friend who wanted people to hang from the throat", happy. Imagine that "it will make my friend unhappy", what a COWARD!
